Orientation analysis

This screen provides in one place the principal tools needed to analyse crystal orientation maps.  It shows:

If more than one phase has been detected the results from each phase can be viewed separately.

Orientation data can be examined from selected rectangular or polygonal shaped regions of the image.

The pole figure, inverse pole figure and Euler angle space plots can be displayed as individual orientation points, colour contours or grey scale contours.  Throughout  INCA Crystal, whenever texture data is displayed these same styles of data presentation are available.

Moving the cursor over a map highlights the corresponding orientation as individual points in the pole figure..

Lines can be drawn across grain boundaries to produce a list of grain boundary misorientations.

Any crystal orientation map can be superimposed onto either the electron image or pattern quality map.

Moving the cursor over the any of the images can update simultaneously a display of a crystal mimic, the orientation in a pole figure and a simulated diffraction pattern.
